Qualifications and experience
English or other common law qualified lawyer with significant post qualification experience gained in-house or a proactive private practice environment, preferably with experience of international development/ INGO sector
Essential
- Experience of working in a similar role at a senior level in the commercial and/ or INGO world, including experience of working in an international context
- Experience in company /commercial law, contract law, corporate governance law and practice
- Ability to take a pro-active and innovative approach to solving problems and demonstrate sound judgement in delivering solutions
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly and to influence and negotiate at all levels and across different cultures in a way that is authoritative and inspires confidence
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with an ability to plan ahead, devise and manage work plans, anticipate requirements and problems, manage competing priorities, and work effectively and calmly in a fast paced working environment
Desirable
- oExperience in charity law, employment law and intellectual property law
- Previous line management experience
