Job profile CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid
agencies, is looking for an experienced Livelihoods specialist to advise and
support our Livelihoods programming. You will provide global technical
oversight, quality assurance and accompaniment to Livelihoods programmes
contributing to reporting under CAFOD’s Programme Partnership Arrangement with
DFID, whilst also shaping and leading the development of CAFOD approach to
Livelihoods in its international programme and policy work.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to contribute to CAFOD’s efforts to deliver real change for some of the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. CAFOD is working to an ambitious ten-year strategic framework to drive forward its multi-sector, partnership-based programmes. Maximising effectiveness, learning and innovation across our Livelihoods programmes, are key to its successful delivery. This is where you come in.
Your role Based in London, you’ll develop, build ownership of, promote and help implement CAFOD’s approach to Livelihoods, working with CAFOD staff and partners across Asia, Africa and Latin America, as well as advising and supporting teams to deliver and report on high-quality results. You’ll facilitate a Community Of Practice to promote shared learning and knowledge across these programmes. Overseas travel may be required of up to 12 weeks per year.
Your profile With proven success in developing and implementing approaches to Livelihoods, you’ll have a demonstrable track record of forging strong relationships at all levels to advance policy and practice. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of livelihoods programming, the ability to offer support and facilitate learning and to be a catalyst for innovation. An appreciation of the role of the Catholic Church in relief and development is essential. A second language (French, Portuguese or Spanish) would be an advantage
