Description of Area of Business
Computershare Technology Services (CTS) provides global technology and infrastructure services for existing Computershare proprietary software together with a full range of development services for new products.
Main Purpose of the Role
The support developer is responsible for providing technical support for Computershare's Web and Windows application software and hosting environments within the EMEA region. Additionally, the support developer will be expected to utilise their analytical, technical, and organisational skills in a range of tasks undertaken within the production support team (including development related tasks) in support of the region's technology offering to the Computershare businesses.
Key Responsibilities

The activities noted below provide a
non-exhaustive list of the responsibilities held by the Support Developer. The
Company will expect the Support Developer to assume additional
responsibilities, as business needs dictate.

Ensure application problems reported are logged,
investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
·
Participate in the analysis and resolution of
problems. This may include activities outside of regular working hours.
·
Analyse new or changed business requirements and
liaise with clients and other CTS staff as required regarding these
requirements
·
Develop new software or modify existing software
to meet new or changed business requirements in accordance with CTS standards.
Including, but not limited to, specifications, code and user documentation
where appropriate.
·
Ensure all work is performed according to the
processes and standards followed by the development team.
·
Provide technical assistance as required to
other CTS staff.
·
Provide on-call support on a rotational basis to
meet the support obligations of our maintenance agreements.
·
Travelling to CTS & client sites, including
internationally, to execute these duties. This may involve stays of
several weeks.

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
·
Good working knowledge of SQL Server –
some commercial experience an advantage
·
Good working knowledge of Internet Information
Services – some commercial experience an advantage
·
Good understanding of XML
·
Good understanding of VB.Net / C#
·
Good working knowledge of VBScript, Visual Basic
6 – some commercial experience an advantage
·
Experience in a formalized SDLC
environment is an advantage
·
Strong interpersonal skills – good team player
·
Exposure to ITIL practices is an advantage.
·
Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on
new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing
needs.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Competencies
·
Basic understanding of the fundamentals of
financial markets, in particular share ownership covering Issuer & Capital
markets
·
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
