Post:Postdoctoral Research Associate - Gastroenterology

You will join a multicentre EU FP7 project (SysmedIBD; www.sysmedibd.eu/), that will explore the hypothesis that abnormalities in NFkappaB signalling may underlie inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The work will be laboratory based, visualising NFkappaB pathway dynamics in cells and tissues from patients and models of induced IBD. You will primarily work in the Department of Gastroenterology but also in collaboration with the University of Manchester Systems Microscopy Centre.
You should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant biological/biomedical science. Expertise in integrative mammalian biology, gut physiology, pathology and dynamic cell and/or tissue imaging would be a distinct advantage. The post is available from 1 October 2013 for four years.
