CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is looking for an Emergency Support Administrator.
Job Profile
The postholder works within CAFOD’s Humanitarian Department (HD) and this core role has two components: support specifically to the Darfur programme (2.5 days/week) and support to the wider HD including coordinating security training (1.5 days). The Department works with partners and other CAFOD staff to respond to a range of new and ongoing humanitarian crises (from natural disasters to conflict). The Darfur programme is one of CAFOD’s longest running Humanitarian programmes and is uniquely implemented in partnership with Norwegian Church Aid and supported by members of the ACT Alliance and Caritas Internationalis.
Your role
Based in London, with occasional travel abroad you will work closely with the Humanitarian Department Coordinator and the Emergency Programme Manager Sudan, providing a breadth of support to the Humanitarian Department team as well as more specifically the Darfur Programme. Your responsibilities will involve a wide range of administrative support including: logistical support arranging key meetings and events, coordination of training on travel security, budget administration, management of administrative and archive systems and maintaining internal communications with staff around the world.
Your profile
With proven success as an effective and flexible team player, you will be enthusiastic and self motivated. You will match this with the ability to adjust priorities according to evolving support needs. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate communication across different agencies and cultures. Strong numerical skills to monitor budgets and experience of coordinating and arranging logistics for meetings and events are also a must.
