Applications are invited for this 6 month fixed term contract starting in October 2013.
This is a key leadership role within the Programme Department team, leading a team of specialists to improve the quality of Plan UK’s programme work through providing technical input in the priority thematic areas and support in learning and impact assessment. The focus of the role will be to provide leadership to the team and to participate in the development and implementation planning for the Plan UK programme strategy for 2014 – 2020.
We are looking for someone who will be immediately effective in the role and able to contribute at a high level within the organisation as well as representing Plan UK externally. You will need significant experience of leading a team and will have worked in a technical advisory/research role within the development sector including living and working overseas in a development role. You will also be confident at instigating policy and programme change and communicating effectively with donors, the development community, and research institutions.
