Background Information:
The Computershare Legal team is 10 strong. It provides legal support across
a wide variety of areas including, drafting commercial contracts, mergers and
acquisitions, share plans, employment matters, litigation and product
development to the Computershare group in EMEA as part of an in house legal
function.
Main Purpose of the Role
To provide accurate legal advice in relation to company/ commercial matters
whilst understanding the commercial realities of the business environment in
which Computershare operates.
Person Specification
2-4 years PQE.
Training contract with a good commercial firm.
Previous In-House experience is NOT a pre-requisite
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a proactive, efficient and robust legal support service as part of the Group's risk management and support services functions
- To research and provide professional legal and regulatory advice
- To liaise and instruct external solicitors and counsel as and when required
- To negotiate and finalise contract terms with clients within the framework of the Group risk management policies
- To assist with product development and the integration of new businesses
- To provide a management support resource and ensure that the company and its officers act lawfully and in compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations
Essential
Skills, Experience and Competencies
Solicitor
Experience preferably in
commercial and/or financial services law and/ or corporate negotiation.
Good writing, communication and
negotiation skills
Well organised and able to
prioritise and manage competing workloads
Confident and assertive
Approachable, open and able to
work as a team
Adaptability to take on variety
of tasks and flex to the needs of the business
Desirable

Experience in the share plans or
trust environment
